Michael grew up in Northern Ireland, but after receiving his degree in Manchester and working in the UK for a few years he came to New Zealand in 2005 for a working holiday.

He enjoyed his time here so much that he returned in 2010, originally working on the west coast and finally settling in Otago. 

Within the surgery he places a strong emphasis on informed consent, and works to make each patient aware of their options and the consequences of each one. He aims to help patients to keep a sense of control within the surgery, to reduce fear and anxiety, and to demystify dental procedures.
