Yash graduated from the Otago Dental School in 2004. Immediately following graduation, he sought placement in General Dental Practices in Melbourne, Australia.

Whilst in Melbourne, he gained valuable experience in Cosmetic Laser Teeth Whitening, implant restorations and the latest technology in CAD restorations. Besides carrying out the normal duties in a General Dental Practice he also served as a Professional Fellow at the Royal Dental Hospital, Melbourne, where he provided tuition in Oral Surgery.

Yash returned to Dunedin in 2008 with his wife who specialized in Orthodontics at the University of Otago. He opted for General Dental Practice with a particular interest in Fixed Prosthodontics Procedures – Crowns, Bridges and Implants. He continued his interest in teaching as a Professional Fellow at the University of Otago Dental School and, currently, as a Mentor to new Dental Graduates.

In 2013, Yash took ownership of a longstanding practice in Burns House and completely digitized the practice. Investing in 3D technology, intraoral scanning and Advanced Training in Implant placement and Restoration. Yash believes that this technology enables him to provide the highest level of dental care by improved patient comfort from reduced chair time and increased accuracy of his dental work. Being very community minded, Yash aspires towards the provision of attainable Dental Care for Young Adults and the Elderly. Having the opportunity to build a new dental practice has allowed Yash to customize everything at Smile Co Dental for the benefit of his patients and staff.

When not at work, Yash loves spending time with his family, reading, skiing, travelling and taking part in co-coaching in soccer and cricket. He also enjoys rugby and is a proud supporter of the Highlanders!
