What Is Good Dental Hygiene?

Dental hygiene is an important part of your health and everyday life. Good dental hygiene leads to good health. Some diseases that you get in your mouth can affect the rest of your body.

Your dental routine should consist of the following:

  • Brushing

  • Flossing

  • Rinsing with mouthwash

  • Cleaning your tongue

These activities should be done at least twice a day. Not only while these prevent gum disease, tooth decay and halitosis (bad breath) but regular and consistent oral hygiene can also prevent heart disease and strokes. So much of what happens in the mouth is not visible so it’s important to be consistent with your oral care to maintain healthy teeth and gums. Coming for your regular checkups allows the dentist to have a better look at some of the things you can’t see and catch any issues early!
